Sundays at PARMER – food, drinks, Wikipedia
464 Quincy Street Brooklyn NY 11221

On February 23 we will add to the existing Wikipedia entry for Sarah Cain, whose paintings are currently on view at Galerie Lelong and create a new page for Letitia Spangler who will be performing KINDREDS:  a song about animals with Lindsay Benedict, Bailey Bretz and Emie Hughes this Tuesday at Eden’s Expressway. We will also draw from the list of Lindsay Benedict’s influences from the past two weeks to create, edit and expand on Wikipedia pages for Julia Brown, Luce Irigaray, Dance Gang, Sharon Van Etten, Kaja Silverman, Trinh Min-Ha, Lydia Bell, Daniella Isamit Morales, Yve Laris Cohen, Åsa Elzén, Anne Wagner, Ulrike Müller and Trinie Dalton.

Sundays at PARMER is a programming component of Lindsay Benedict’s photo essay Are You There? Yes. Are You There? Yes.(2011) on view at PARMER until April 7, 2014. Over the nine weeks of the exhibition these weekly meetings will draw from a list of the artist’s influences to add new Wikipedia pages and additional content to existing entries. In this way the artist supports the practices that have made hers possible through the community that comes together around the exhibition.  This series of Wikipedia events was inspired by the 2014 Art+Feminism Wikipedia Edit-a-Thon that has since spurred several other such events and communities around the world.
